While scrolling through my timeline, I remembered the reverse direction option. I changed the display so that the most recent posts appear at the bottom. Subsequently, while scrolling through the timeline to check if this setting suited me, I noticed that a Fedilab post was associated with a journal article from another post.
When I reverted to the original direction, the journal article became attached to a different Fedilab post.
